About Destination The Hill
Destination The Hill is a locally created visitor guide to the communities, businesses, events, and outdoor places of California’s Tejon Pass mountain region.
The Hill brings together the mountain communities of Frazier Park, Pine Mountain Club, Lake of the Woods, Lebec, and Lockwood Valley, along with the surrounding landscapes of Cuddy Valley and Mt. Pinos.
Long before there was a local high school, students from these mountain communities were bused to schools miles away. When classmates asked where they came from, the answer was simple: “We’re from The Hill.”
The name stayed. Today, it remains a familiar way of describing these neighboring mountain communities and the people connected to them.
It can be surprisingly difficult for first-time visitors to understand what is here, how the communities connect, and where to find reliable local information. Destination The Hill was created to bring those details together in one useful place—from restaurants and lodging to trails, events, shops, services, and practical trip-planning information.
The goal is simple: help visitors make the most of their time here while directing more attention toward the local businesses, organizations, and places that give The Hill its character.
Destination The Hill was created by The Hill Collective, a locally rooted initiative dedicated to sharing the region thoughtfully and helping visitors connect with its communities.
