Mountain trails, a village lunch, and a little local history.
Start with breakfast at Cliff’s Café, spend the morning among the pines on Mt. Pinos, then head to Pine Mountain Club for lunch and a wander. Finish in Frazier Park with a look into the mountain communities’ past.
This is a day to enjoy at your own pace. Choose a walk that suits your group, leave time to browse, and treat the extra stops as possibilities rather than a checklist.
Cliff’s Café → Mt. Pinos Nordic Base → Pine Mountain Club → Frazier Park and the Ridge Route Communities Museum

Stop at Cliff’s Café for coffee and a terrific light breakfast before heading up the mountain. Settle in, enjoy a relaxed start, and give yourself a little breathing room after the drive from LA.

Drive through Cuddy Valley and follow Mt. Pinos Road to the Nordic Base at the Chula Vista parking area.
Spend some time among the pines, choosing a shorter forest walk or a longer hike toward the mountain’s viewpoints. Let your group’s interests, energy, and the day’s conditions guide how far you go.
You don’t need to tackle a long hike to enjoy your mountain morning. Bring water, layers, and comfortable walking shoes, and choose your route before setting out.

After your time on Mt. Pinos, head to the beautiful little community of Pine Mountain Club.
Choose lunch at The Bigfoot Café or Bear Claw Bakery, depending on what sounds good and what’s serving that day. Then take your time exploring the village’s shops and galleries and enjoying the town itself.
With children along, Lampkin Park may be another pleasant stop.
After lunch and browsing, enjoy the drive back toward Frazier Park.
If you’re visiting the museum, keep its closing time in mind. A shorter morning walk and an earlier lunch will leave more room for an unhurried visit.

Before leaving The Hill, stop at the Ridge Route Communities Museum & Historical Society in Frazier Park.
Explore historic photographs, tools, machinery, and stories of the people who shaped these mountain communities. Browse the museum store for local history books and keepsakes before heading home with a little more understanding of the place you’ve spent the day exploring.
Plan around this stop: the museum currently lists Friday–Sunday hours of noon–4 p.m. Confirm the schedule before visiting.
Prefer a slower pace? Keep your mountain walk short and linger over lunch.
