Hungry Valley OHV

More than 130 miles of designated trails for dirt bikes, ATVs, side-by-sides, and 4×4 vehicles on rolling hills and rugged canyons near Gorman.

Hungry Valley SVRA

Hungry Valley is California’s largest state-managed off-highway vehicle recreation area. Trails range from beginner-friendly loops to steep, technical hill climbs, with staging areas that give access to several trail systems. Bring your own machine, a valid OHV permit, and a helmet — and check conditions before you drive out.

What you can ride

Dirt bikes, ATVs, side-by-sides (UTVs), and high-clearance 4×4 vehicles all have designated routes. Trails vary widely in difficulty — not every route suits every machine or rider. Use the staging areas to unload and pick a loop that matches your experience and equipment.

Beyond the machines

The park also has non-motorized hiking and mountain-biking options, camping, and wildlife watching. Spring wildflowers — California poppies, lupine, and fiddlenecks — draw visitors off the trails and onto the camera.
